Chocolate is good for you

Yesterday I received an alert telling me that doctors now recognise the benefits of Chocolate http://www.medscape.org/viewarticle/749142?src=cmemp.

Of course you and I have known about the benefits of chocolate from a very early age, and it has a long history.

(Humourous piece) Chocolate was known about in South America many hundreds of years ago.  It was only available to rulers and priests, because it's nice so ordinary folk aren't allowed it.  They mixed it with Chilli, making piri-piri sauce (or whatever it was called then).

It came to Europe, and the Europeans wanted to democratise it.  Switzerland was the first to really get going, and started to mix the cocoa powder with various things the Swiss are known for, to come up with a universally acceptable form.  Experiments with watch parts, Alpen horns and Lederhosen were largely unsuccessful, but Switzerland has lots of milk, and modern chocolate was born.
