After getting so tired and unwell that I was unable to function for the best part of a month I went to the doc who found out I had a B12 deficiency but couldnt understand why I didnt show any signs of pernicious anaemia. She said it was enough to cause all my symptoms and perscibed a single injection of B12 and a test for intrinsic factor. I have to have another blood test 2 months later and B12 injections every 3 months depending on the second test results.
The injection made me feel better for an afternoon but then not really much better, when I went back to the doctor to get results of the intrinsic factor test, results werent in but as I was still feeling no better she told me to wait until Feb and get the second blood test and the intrinsic factor results. If I was still not feeling better she would look into a formal diagnosis of ME.
All I heard was ME and for 2 weeks got so distressed at the thought of ME I wasnt coping with anything. I started taking calcium, magnesium and boron suppliments and felt better than the B12 made me feel but still not right at all.
My partner finally got me to re-look at B12 deficiency and after finding this site I now feel it might not be ME after all but that I havent had enough B12. Can anyone advice me??
I also found out that the suicidal PMT I have been suffering from but wouldnt admit to has a name and is linked with B12 deficiency - so for that alone....I thank you.
